More Mauritians Accessing Child Pornography Websites in 2014 – According To Big Daddy!

The fabric of our contemporary societies have been undermined by many scourges, such that our moral values have been declining. Who can deny this? One of the most horrendous of all of these social plagues has got to be pedophilia. However, it is also one of the most not-talked about issues that we have to deal with. Recently, it has been brought to our attention that ped0p0rn0graphic sites have witnessed a considerable increase in visits by internet users from Mauritius.

From 7060 to 12 857. Such has been the rocketing up of the number of visits to these sites between December 2013 to January 2014 in Mauritius. Have the authorities not come up with solutions to counter this upward trend?! Well, access to ped0philia-related content has been checked and denied to many IP addresses. However, last December had known a great decrease in the number of visits to such sites, by more than 20 000 (compared to previous months). The credit goes to new, enhanced systems of supervision. What happened then, that in a matter of ONE month, the previous decrease has been countered so badly by the sites?

According to the statistics gathered, half of the time, access to pedop0rn0graphic sites is denied. Better than nothing, right? What about the other half, then? To top it all, if one navigates privately on browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, one can walk one’s way through such sites with great ease. Unless the country where the website has been established blocks access to its contents. So, all in all, the authorities working to curb these degenerating trends do not have much control over the situation. Rather, it is those who set up the sites who have the sway over the affairs. Or so it seems. To add up to it, the users themselves can modify their IP address (by using VPNs) such that they can satisfy their inhumane desires all they want, as they go unnoticed by all and sundry.

Uptil now, firewalls and antivirus programs seem to be the ultimate ways to protect children. Let us hope we leave a better world for our kids. It sure has become more and more challenging to protect them from the outside world.
