The government of Canada having collaborated with the Mauritian government is marching forth with its recruitment program. 25 000 posts are available in 50 different fields under the Federal Skilled Worker Programme (FSWP).
Last year, this programme made accessible to the people a total of 5000 posts. Now, more and more professionals are being sought after to work in Canada. A broader variety of options have been made available as Canada needs more and more of senior managers in finance and communication sector, finance auditors, engineers, psychologists, university lecturers, doctors, nurses, security agents, and the list goes on and on. Some time back, doctors were being recruited. As for the new posts available, those interested can currently send their application forms. The deadline for sending in the applications is the 30th of April 2015.
To be eligible to apply to the posts, one should ensure that one is armed with the prerequisites: the required qualifications to be able to fit into the post, and a given number of points that is necessary. The application system will be open for around a year, and, because of the great amount of applications that pour in, the procedures take quite a considerable amount of time such that one has to wait for as long as 2 years to have any response at all…
Some Mauritians have since long aspired to broaden their horizons by working abroad; meeting new people in a completely new environment together with the new opportunities entailed sure are great motivating factors. Ever since this programme has been launched, many have been able to realise their dreams. According to the Director of a Canadian firm, Canadan Immigration and Visa Services Ltd, Nita Juddoo, Mauritians have always shown great interest to immigrate to Canada, and this has only been proved the more so during the last 3 months.
What is now being expected is that the different provinces of the country could launch their own programmes, to suit their individual needs. For instance, the Alberta province particularly needs engineers, while others could be professionals in the medical field: Quebec, for example, is in search of nurses.
