This weekend, the 14th and 15th of June, the Swami Vivekananda center at Pailles will host a series of exhibitions with the purpose to raise awareness about health. Around 180 stalls will be installed. The primary aim is to sensitise Mauritians about the diseases which are undermining our society, like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
The exhibitions will include explanations about the treatment measures available in Mauritius. An overview of the latest researches and the services and equipment being made available will be communicated to the people. Also, screening for certain diseases will be done for free: a general medical check up will be accessible to the people, and others like hearing tests. New health products will also be demonstrated in the exhibition. Doctors and medical associations will be present to further assist the public with the required information about diseases and therapies made available as well as the medications to be used. Additionally, the event will also include speeches whereby experts from the medical field and representatives of NGOs will share their experiences with the people.
From 9h30 to 7 in the evening, the services mentioned will be accessible to members of the public.
Free shuttle buses will be made available at the Victoria and Rose-Hill bus stands.
