An Air Algerie plane is currently missing. 110 passengers were on-board according to a source from Air Algerie.
The Air Algerie plane AH5017, an Airbus A320, with about 110 passengers and 6 crew memebers, went missing when it was just near its destination. Flight AH 5017 took off at Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. The passengers included 50 French people, and many of other nationalities. It lost contact when it was in the airspace of Mali, just approaching to Algeria – it nearly reached its destination, when an emergency plan was worked out because of visibility problems. The pilots of the airplane were asked to do a detour because of the risk of colliding with another airplane which was in the same route. From there on, it went missing.
With all the recent air crashes and incidents, one can only wonder about the fate of the plane right now. According to an official from Mali, the country had an intense sandstorm during the night. It is possible that this accounted for troubles faced by the airplane.
Meanwhile, searches have been launched to look for the missing Airbus. Several countries are putting their efforts together to look for it, namely, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Algeria and Spain.
