Bharat Telecom is carrying on with its project to provide Mauritius with internet facility via optical fiber.
Bharat Telecom is the company catering for internet connection under the brand of Bees. It is currently undergoing works of networking across Mauritius. The company is aiming to sell its services to more and more customers. It has launched advertising campaigns including posters on vehicles, animations in shops, and roadshows.
The first regions to have internet coverage was the town of Quatre-Bornes. Thereafter, towns Curepipe, Vacoas, Phœnix and Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill were dealt with.
As promised, Bharat Telecom is carrying on with its project of providing network coverage all around the island. The previous phase of the development entailed the south of the country which was equipped with internet facilities, including the area at and near the airport at Plaisance and villages like Rose-Belle, Chemin-Grenier and Bel-Ombre. By the end of this month, these regions of Mauritius will have the network provided by Bharat Telecom accessible.
Now, it is the turn of villages in the North of the island which will be involved. The areas will have optical fiber installed so as to provide access to the internet. This stage of the project will last till March 2015. The first part of it includes coastal regions together with Triolet, Morcellement St-André, Plaine-des-Papayes, Rivière-du-Rempart and the neighbouring villages.
Additionally, two buildings named Optical Line Terminal Equipment/Exchange (OLTE) have been constructed by the company at Grand-Baie and at Flacq United Estates Ltd (FUEL).
