The former director of the École Hôtelière SGD, Harmon Chellen, has been found drowned in the sea of Seychelles. His dead body was discovered at Port Glaud by an inhabitant of the region. The cause of death is not yet known: the possibilities revolve around suicide or murder.
Harmon Chellen, the ex-director of the École Hôtelière Sir Gaetan Duval, formerly known as the Hotel School of Mauritius, has been found dead at Islette, Port Glaud at Seychelles yesterday afternoon, the 18th of August. The 52-year old man used to work as Training Center Manager at the school at Ebene. He had left Mauritius on the 13th of August to grace a graduation ceremony at the Seychelles Training Academy (STA) with his presence as guest of honour of the event. He was to return to Mauritius yesterday.
His stay at the Ephelia Hotel was punctuated by an unpleasant incident. A hotel employee filed a complaint against him for rape attempt. The woman alleged that the incident happened on Sunday night. Thereafter, Harmon Chellen was called at the police station for him to give his version. By 14h50 yesterday, his dead body was found by an inhabitant of Port Glaud. His body was found floating in the seawater. He was identified by the personnel of Ephelia Hotel.
The police force of Seychelles has not yet shed light on the circumstances behind the sad event. Has he committed suicide, or was he killed? Hopefully, these questions will be answered by the coroner to do the autopsy.
Harmon Chellen has left behind a wife and two children. The latter were informed of his death after his dead body was identified.
