Nitish Joganah, the singer who was previously charged with drug dealing, has been cleared of all drug dealing charges for the 2nd time by Mauritian justice.
Nitish Joganah, singer of profession, declared on Radio Plus today 6th of August 2014 that he is no drug dealer. He was previously acquitted by the court after he was accused of selling drugs. After having been exonerated of the crime, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) contested the jugement of the magistrate Azam Neerooa. Now, the judges Saheeda Peeroo and Nirmala Devat have rejected the appeal of the DPP.
The singer was arrested with the charge “drug dealing : possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling” on the 26th of March 2010. He had then pleaded non-guilty and was defended by lawyers Raouf Gulbul and Neelkanth Dulloo.
