AirAsia Flight 8501 traveling from Indonesia to Singapore has gone missing since Sunday morning. According to an unconfirmed reports from local media, AirAsia Flight 8501 wreckage has been found east of Indonesia’s Belitung Island. No official authority has confirmed this news yet though.
AirAsia Flight 8501 lost contact with air traffic control at about 7.24 a.m Indonesian time. The plane was carrying 155 passengers on board, 2 pilots, and 5 cabin crew. AirAsia Flight 8501 had requested deviation due to weather before communication was lost according to official AirAsia sources.
The loss of contact with the AirAsia plane comes nearly 10 months after the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which dropped off radar over Southeast Asia on March 8.
