Participants of Volvo Ocean Race Rescued by St-Brandon Coast Guards

Nine passengers taking part in the Volvo Ocean Race, travelling across the world in a yacht, almost did not make it to their destination alive. Their yacht collided with reefs along the Cargados Carajos Shoals in the Indian Ocean on the 29th of November.
The team Vesta Wind had started their journey from Spain on the 19th of November.

Luckily for them, when they nearly had their yacht wrecked at sea, the National Coast Guard of St-Brandon was informed of the mishap via satellite. All 9 of them were then safely brought back to land.

Their final destination is Sweden. If everything goes as planned, they will reach the latter by the 15th of June 2015.
