Rundheersing Bheenick left the post of Governor of Bank of Mauritius without receiving any compensation. He affirms having no regrets to be replaced by another, but he also adds not having appreciated the way he was asked to leave.
Rundheersing Bheenick is no more at the head of the Bank of Mauritius. He recently received a notice from the office of the President of the Republic. He admits having no regret to leave the post for a newcomer. He wished the next Governor of the Bank of Mauritius good luck to carry on with the work. He affirmed that he has had the opportunity to serve the State at that level, and hence he harbours no regret. He also said that he has not received any compensation for leaving the post.
However, he added that he did not appreciate the way he was asked to leave.
Perhaps, he might soon seek the assistance of his lawyers to contest the grounds on which he was made to leave the post in question. It is reported that he is of the opinion that the article of the Constitution that was used to have him ousted does not apply to his case.
The new Governor of the Bank of Mauritius might soon be Kee Chong Li Kwong Wing, who joined Alliance Lepep after leaving the MMM. But, when asked about his future plans, he asserted that he is currently in holidays and was not even aware that Rundheersing Bheenick had left.
