The daughter of Nandanee Soornack, Jeshna Soornack, and her boyfriend, Aditya Lama, have been interrogated today morning at the Line Barracks by investigators of the CCID. It appears that the two were present at the party held at Navin Ramgoolam’s Roches-Noires bungalow where a robbery was reported.
Today morning (05.02.15), the daughter of Nandanee Soornack and her boyfriend, Aditya Lama, were interrogated by investigators working on the Roches-Noires robbery case. In the aftermath of the theft at the Roches-Noires bungalow of ex-Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam, back in July 2011, it was said that a man was arrested pertaining to this police case, and died when he was in prison. Many individuals were involved in the affair, and the case has been recently reopened to shed light on the circumstances of the incident that occurred at Roches-Noires on the 2nd of July 2011 and those relating to the death of Anand Kumar Ramdhony in prison.
Of the group of individuals who have been interrogated was Rakesh Gooljaury, the one who had initially taken the responsibility of reporting the theft to the police and who later retracted upon his previous statements. His ex-wife, Anishta Gooljaury, had also provided her own version of the chain of events of that night. She affirmed having accompanied her Rakesh Gooljaury to the Roches-Noires bungalow. She made a list of many individuals who had attended the party when she herself was interrogated on the 1st of February. She included the names of the daughter of Nandanee Soornack, and her boyfriend, Aditya Lama. The latter were thus called at the police headquarters where they were both confronted with the statements of Anishta Gooljaury. They left the police headquarters at around 1:00 p.m in company of their lawyer, Yatin Varma.
Furthermore, Anishta Gooljaury stated that Navin Ramgoolam was also present at the party.
Many others have been interrogated so far, including police officers who were involved in the case four years ago and Dr Sudesh Gungadin who had performed the autopsy on the corpse of Anand Kumar Ramdhony.
The investigators now have to sift through the contradictory versions of the many witnesses of the night of the 2nd of July 2011 at Roches-Noires. One of them must be lying. But, who would that be?
