Upon the arrival of the CGS Barracuda, an official ceremony of welcome will be launched.

A team of the National Coast Guard had previously been sent to India for delivery.

The ship is, in fact, the first of its kind to be exported by India. It is meant to serve several purposes, including the performing anti-piracy programmes, and the protection of the EEZ of Mauritius.
