A cyclone warning class one is currently in force in Rodrigues. Mauritius fortunately is not threatened by tropical cyclone Joalane.
The progress of cyclone Joalane
The tropical cyclone Joalane is situated at 430 km at the North-North-East of Rodrigues. It is getting closer and closer to the island at a speed of 10 km/h. A cyclone warning class one has thus been maintained in Rodrigues today, 9th of April.
The trajectory of Joalane indicates that it still is a menace to Rodrigues.
The possibility of a cyclone warning class two by today evening cannot be ignored either, as Joalane is further intensifying.
The weather will be cloudy, with sporadic rainfall, and isolated thunder. The wind will blow from a South-East direction at a speed of 40 to 50 km/h, with winds reaching up to 80 to 90 km/h in certain areas.
Mauritius will not have a cyclonic weather though. Fortunately, the weather will be relatively sunny all across the island.
