Now that Nandanee Soornack has been arrested by Interpol, in Parma, Italy, she will have to be returned to the island. The necessary procedures required for her extradition are underway; the authorities intend to have everything finalised as soon as possible.
The police will start the procedures for the extradition of Nandanee Soornack today, 17th of April. The series of steps will entail consultation at the office of the Attorney General and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Inspector Coothen Shiva Soopramanien explained that the operation will be carried out as soon as possible.
The Mauritian police force had already contacted Interpol, based in Rome, to inform them of their search for Nandanee Soornack. Recently, they have been in correspondence to confirm the arrestation of Soornack. The latter was arrested by the Italian police working in collaboration with Interpol from Rome. The Italian authorities had then asked the Mauritian ones to start the diplomatic procedures for the extradition process.
