The ex-advisor of Navin Ramgoolam, Sir Bhinod Bacha, was summoned at the CCID headquarters today 14th of May to be interrogated by the investigators. He was accompanied by his lawyer, Mooloo Gujadhur.
His testimony was required pertaining to the purchase of the two lots of the Bramer House by Iqbal Malla-Hasham, at the time when the latter was the director of the State Investment Company. The transaction was approved by the ex-PM under the Non-Citizens (Property Restriction) Act back when Bacha was the senior advisor of the PM’s office.
Bhinod Bacha is also to be interrogated because documents relating to the purchase of State lands bear his signature.
Bacha had resigned on the 18th of December 2014.
