Municipal Elections Postponed to the 14.06.15

14th of June 2015 has been chosen as the new date for the municipal elections.

The municipal elections have been postponed to the 14th of June 2015. It was previously scheduled for the 7th of June, but the new decision has been made taking into consideration a religious celebration.

The Writ of Elections will be issued soon.

The different political parties have a little over a month to carry out their campaigns and win the hearts of voters. Meanwhile, the list of candidates of each party is being elaborated.

The MSM will contribute 60 candidates, the PMSD 34, and the ML 26. The tentative list will now have to be confirmed and established.

The provisional list of the MMM will be prepared by the end of this week.

As for the PTr, the list of candidates for Port-Louis and Vacoas-Phoenix is being prepared since two weeks. The rest will soon be done.

The MMSD has also shown interest in participating in the elections. The party will organise a press conference this week to discuss their plans.
