According to inspector Ashok Mathur of the Traffic Branch Unit, officers identified the problem at around 22h30 last night. He explained that torrential rain led to the landslides.
Furthermore, he said that the capital would probably witness great traffic jam today as a consequence, and he urged drivers to be particularly careful, given the current weather conditions; the meteorological station of Vacoas forecasted that the torrential rain would persist today as well.
