Airway Coffee, the firm of Nandanee Soornack, had gained the catering contract at the airport of Mauritius under the government of Navin Ramgoolam. Now, it seems that its days are counted.
Airway Coffee will soon need to vacate the premises of the 3 lounges in the air terminal to be replaced by EIH Flight Services, commonly known as Oberoi Flight Services. The Indian Oberoi group has been granted the contract by Airports of Mauritius (AML).
Airway Coffee will need to bid the airport farewell on the 11th of July. The Oberoi group is already supplying meals to several airline companies. Its Rs 10-million contract is similar to that of Airway Coffee, except that it obtained it after a call for tenders.
The EIH Flight Services will now be in charge of the State Lounge, the Nenuphar Lounge and the VIP one. It is managed by an ex-reporter, Harish Chundunsing.
