Indian Navy Ship Deployed To Protect EEZ of Mauritius

The ship Teg, known to carry missiles for the Indian army, will be deployed to the north of Mauritius as from today, July 10, to watch over our exclusive economic zone (EEZ) as well as those of neighbouring islands like Rodrigues, Agalega and Saint-Brandon.

The decision of deploying a ship to guard over the seas of Mauritius is a way of extending the cooperation between Mauritius and India.

Teg (also known as INS Teg (F45)) has participated in several missions aimed to combat piracy in the north of the Indian Ocean. It was also put to use for the purpose of humanitarian missions.
