The Wi-Fi project will be executed with the cooperation of Mauritius Telecom. Mauritians will then be able to have access to their emails, and any other website they wish to, wherever they are. Minister Roshi Bhadain announced the news at the launching of the interactive web platform of Mauritius Union.

This will allow the insurance company to be available 24 hours a day. The platform will be accessible to the public, clients or otherwise. It will help reduce the time between the first contact with the client and the registration process.

Roshi Bhadain also explained that the government made Internet access a right for all citizens. He later announced that the ministry has launched a market sounding exercise for the installation of undersea optical fibre in Mauritius and Rodrigues.

  • This is a welcome development. I’m a first time visitor and one observation I have made is that the Maurice have the spirit and soul to become SADC’s ICT Capital. Go for it!
