Apollo Bramwell Hospital is now under the charge of the State. The National Insurance Company Ltd, the new government firm that has taken over the ex-BAI, will run the hospital now.
The transfer was done on Tuesday, August 25, according to l’Express.mu reporting that such was indicated by the Financial Service Commission (FSC).
On the other hand, the employees seem not to be fully aware of the changes – they had started off a go-slow yesterday as a way to express their concern over not receiving their salaries for this month. They will gather today at the “Confédération des travailleurs du secteur privé” at Rose-Hill. Their representative, union activist, Reaz Chuttoo, said in a statement to l’Express.mu that the uncertainty and tension have lasted long enough, and that it was time for the problems to be solved once and for all.
