The Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) must be geared towards change, as per the aims set by minister Roshi Bhadain. He held a meeting with the ex-managing director, Pritam Parmessur, and employees of the MBC yesterday, August 24.
According to l’Express.mu, minister Bhadain explained that only news-worthy functions involving ministers should be broadcast. He added that the decision has been made while taking into consideration the new operations of the MBC.
He also mentioned the need for “breaking news” by the MBC.
Furthermore, he reassured those who attended the meeting that no employee will be dismissed. Not for now, anyway.
Also, before a new managing director is recruited, the post will be held by Dev Phokeer, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation.
