The national broadcasting station, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), has allegedly accumulated huge debts, according to l’Express.mu.
The debts of the MBC amounts to Rs 987,6 millions, as per the figures of an audit done last year. It seems that the firm has to recover around Rs 300 million from many of its clients and partners. A report in the possession of the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation, stated that it did not claim money from several advertising agencies that were to pay for its services.
The government wishes to nominate a new managing director for the MBC with the view to rectifying its situation.
