The National Price Consultative Council (NPCC) intends to review the selling of chicken and basmati rice. The latter’s quality will be evaluated, given the number of criticisms over some types of basmati rice.
The price of chicken has increased by 6 % since last July. Consumer associations believe this increase is unjustified, specially that the food for poultry itself has decreased in price.
Furthermore, as DefiMedia.info reports, some commercialised brands of rice might only be of very low quality.
Therefore, the NPCC looks forward to evaluating the markets for both chicken and basmati rice.
