The synthetic drugs that have been wreaking havoc among teenagers are now classified under the Dangerous Drugs Act. The list of prohibited substances has thus been amended to accommodate for this change.
Several medicines used as drugs such as the pregabalin are now under the list of forbidden substances. Pregabalin is very much used among teenagers – the Pharmacy Board had shown concern over the issue of youth abusing of this drug some months back.
Furthermore, a committee will soon be set up to monitor the use of drugs.
Other synthetic drugs such as “Krocodile”, and “Salvia” are not included in the list though.
