A School Certificate (SC) student was allegedly asked to leave the English examination room because his haircut did not comply with the regulations.
The young man’s father explained that his son had to leave the premises of the school to go for a haircut, and when he did return, the examinations were over. On the other hand, the rector of the college denied the occurrence of the incident.
The Mauritius Examination Syndicate (MES) launched an investigation to find out the truth.
L’Express.mu reports that a rector cannot prevent a student from participating in the examinations for the said reasons. As long as the latter is not infringing upon the regulations of Cambridge, noone can stop him from taking the exams.
The teenager was able to go through the exams later that day though.
