Yet another world-renowned airline, the Turkish Airlines, will be landing in Mauritius from now on.
The brand-new A330 of the Turkish Airlines landed on the island yesterday, December 15, with 160 passengers for its Turkey-Mauritius-Madagascar inaugural flight.
Turkish Airlines will have 3 flights per week, taking off from Istanbul, to Plaisance, and then to Antananarivo. This will be increased to 4 flights in February, and ultimately to daily ones.
For its first flight along this destination line, a delegation of 80 Turk officials including representatives of the Foreign Economic Relations Board as well as a group of other visitors came to the island.
This is a big step forward, according to the Chairman of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, Arnaud Martin, whose statement was reported by l’Express.mu.
Turkish Airlines will support Mauritius as Regional Hub between Africa and Asia, says the Chairman of the Airports of Mauritius, Roshan Seetohul. He believes the partnership between the Turkish company and the SSR International Airport is very promising.
