The search performed by the National Coast Guard (NCG) to find the missing fishermen yielded its fruits: the latter’s boat was spotted at La Prairie yesterday, January 11.
The fishermen were at Le Morne when they went missing on Saturday, January 9. Their boat has now been found off the coast of La Prairie. Without them. Their families are, therefore, not reassured.
The boat wreck was, however, not towed though.
A team of NCG divers came across the wreck 30 metres deep into the sea at around 16h30 yesterday. The police helicopter and the ship Guardian also participated in the search which resumed today morning.
In a statement to l’Express.mu, a family member said that they no more had any hope but that they would want to retrieve the body.
