Mauritian athlete Jonathan Drack ranks first in the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) (for now).
Jonathan Drack, specialising in the triple jump, has, thus, surpassed the two Americans Eric Sloan and Felix Obi with a performance of 16.44 metres.
He achieved the record 16.44 metres on January 9 during an international event in France.
He says that this is the first time he has featured at the top of the world ranking.
It is to be noted that while he has been dominating the ranking since Tuesday, January 26, the results might change since other athletes have not taken the jump yet. The ranking will evolve as more athletes participate in the competition.
Regardless, Jonathan Drack might ultimately win the title “Sportsman of the Year” for the National Sports Awards 2015 as he has been nominated. The reward ceremony will be held tomorrow, January 30, at J&J Auditorium at Phoenix.
