Hoax: Ship SS Cotopaxi Lost In Bermuda Triangle Discovered

How true is the claim that the ship named SS Cotopaxi has been found off the coast of Cuba following 9 decades of disappearance (allegedly) in the Bermuda Triangle?

SS Cotopaxi went missing back in December 1925. Its disappearance has often been associated with the Bermuda Triangle. Last May, an article published in the World News Daily Report said that the ship had reappeared. According to the report, the Cuban Coast Guard had come across an unmanned ship heading towards Havana that was thought to be the SS Cotopaxi.

Cuban authorities had allegedly despatched three patrol boats in order to try to “communicate with the crew”.

This is not true at all

The SS Cotopaxi has not been found. World News Daily Report is not a reliable source because it is a ‘fake’ news site. It describes itself as a “news and political satire web publication, which may or may not use real names, often in semi-real or mostly fictitious ways”. Its disclaimer even highlights the fact that the content is not news but only fiction, and hence fake news.
