Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Might Be Released Soon by the UN

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange might soon be released, announced the website on Twitter.

The final verdict of the United Nations investigation concerning Julian Assange will be revealed soon. The court might order his release on February 5.

Assange had obtained political asylum from the Ecuadorian government. He has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for nearly 4 years now, since 2012.

He was facing sexual assault charges in Sweden. Also, he could face cyber espionage allegations in the US for revealing secret US military and diplomat documents on his website Wikileaks. He had then filed a complaint against both Sweden and the UK in 2014 that was taken into consideration by the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. The latter’s decision will be published on Friday.
