The construction works to make of Heritage City a reality will start off in August. Heritage City is meant to become the administrative centre of Mauritius.
The government has issued a communiqué to inform of the construction works starting off in August. The discussion of affairs pertaining to Heritage City was held by the council of ministers yesterday, March 2.
The Master Plan of the project has fallen into the hands of a firm based in Dubai, Stree Consulting. The project is expected to cost Rs 28.5 billion.
The offices of the Prime Minister, the different ministries and the national assembly will move to the new city once it is operational; it has not been specified as to when the works will be completed.
Heritage City will also include luxurious villas, ‘townhouses’, shopping malls, restaurants, a ‘food court’, a ‘cinema complex’, and a ‘Bollywood Entertainment Park’.
