Experts from the civil aviation department of Malaysia have, today, April 8, examined the aircraft debris found in Rodrigues.
The debris found in Rodrigues had been transferred to Mauritius to be analysed by Malaysian experts who arrived in Mauritius yesterday night.
The initial examination indicates that the debris belonged to the missing MH370 aircraft. However, more in-depth analysis will have to be done to confirm the findings — this will be done in Malaysia itself.
The aircraft went missing on March 2014. Ever since, efforts to find the plane have been concentrated near Australia and in the Indian Ocean. Nothing conclusive was found for nearly two years, except for debris found on Reunion Island.
