Dengue Fever in Reunion Island: Mauritian Travellers Urged to be Cautious

Dengue cases have been increasing in Reunion Island lately. Therefore, the Mauritian Ministry of Health urges those visiting the neighbouring island to be careful, and to take the necessary precautions.

If you are travelling to Reunion Island, you might want to focus on Dengue preventive measures, given that a number of cases of infection have been reported there.

The ministry has issued a communiqué earlier this week to inform the population of the recommendations to protect against the disease, such as wearing long-sleeved garments, and using mosquito repellents.

Also, any Mauritian returning to the country from Reunion Island is to inform the authorities in case of fever, muscular pain, and other symptoms of Dengue fever. Find a list of the symptoms here.
