EgyptAir Flight MS804, With 66 People Onboard, Gone Missing

EgyptAir flight MS804 has gone missing after it took off from Charles de Gaulle airport, France, on Wednesday night, May 18, at 00.30 GMT.


The aircraft disappeared from radar between Paris and Cairo.

66 people are onboard: 56 passengers and 10 crew members. These are mostly Egyptians, while the rest are from France, Iraq, UK, Belgium, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Algeria, Portugal, Canada, and Chad.

Before it lose radar contact, it emitted a signal through its emergency devices; this statement is attributed to EgyptAir, but other reports deny having received any signal.

Authorities (including those from Greece and France) are currently searching for signs of the aircraft. The rescue teams are focusing in areas located around 280 km north of Egypt.
