United Nations’ Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-Moon, is currently in Mauritius on an official visit.
Mr Ban Ki-moon arrived in Mauritius yesterday afternoon, May 8. His visit to the island will be a short-lasting one; he will be leaving tomorrow.
He will be meeting with the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, and the President of the Republic, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim. Another activity on his schedule is a meeting to be held in regard to Sustainable Development Goals – The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
He will also be giving a speech at the 2016 Conference of the International Council of Commercial Arbitration at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre.
Mr Ban Ki-moon will also be paying a visit to several historical sites like the Aapravasi Ghat World Heritage Site, and the Morne Cultural Landscape and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On leaving Mauritius tomorrow, May 10, he will stop by Madagascar to meet with President Hery Rajaonarimampianina.
