Archbishop Maurice Piat has been included in the consistory for the creation of 17 new Cardinals. The Pope made the announcement on Sunday, October 9.
Mauritian Archbishop Maurice Piat (75 years of age) will soon be having the title of Cardinal. The consistory for the creation of 17 new Cardinals has been scheduled for November 19, 2016.
He is not the first Mauritian to win the title, though. Jean Margéot has also been a Cardinal in the past.
